Christen Goff hits the runway for Swim Week, Alysha Newman in Miami festivities with a dinger to the dome

We’re kicking things off this beautiful Sunday with NFL WAG and I think it’s safe to say for now, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit legend Christen Goff. This weekend was a big one for this veteran.

On Thursday, he celebrated his birthday and did so without taking the entire weekend off. Any future models should take notes. Bikini season is upon us and there was a runway down in Miami that needed her attention. He would not miss that opportunity.

The runway at the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway shows during Miami Swim Week is packed. There are newcomers trying to leave their mark. That can often turn off veterans who show up year after year and consistently put in the work. Not on my watch.

I knew Miami Swim Week was going on and as I dove into what was going on the past few days, I decided, and to my credit for doing so, that I wasn’t going to fall into a new trap. I wanted someone who had been there before and knew how to play the game without acting about it.

JENA SIMS COVERS HER BUMPER WITH A SKIRT AT THE SI SWIMSUIT PARTY, THE NFL SAVES US FROM ROMO AND IS STAR WARS DEAD?

That’s Christen Goff. He shows up, runs his business, and is as consistent as they come. There was never any concern that he would be off his game. That doesn’t happen.

Remember Greg Hardy?

The former NFL star is still trying to fight and is still getting beat up, which is something you hate to see. Here’s Hardy on Saturday night at something called Fight Nation Championship 31, being released.

He cut weight by 26 pounds and outweighed his opponent, former UFC fighter Darko Stosic, by 52 pounds. Although he wasn’t completely knocked out, he ate a right hand that dropped him.

And, he really hates seeing you.

‘Difficult’ golfers

– Daren writes:

Hey SJ,

It’s reading Aunt Ms. Spiranac messing around with these various A-clowns. I would question if I (used to) qualify as a serious golfer. I’m old/merchant and haven’t played in a while. When I played/practiced a lot, I was 1 handicap. He played college golf for 4 years but never had the talent to make it to the top. Most d—heads with ambitions to finish 100 know ‘Too Much’ about the most important golf.

I think PS is great. A little tmi here, but I prefer B cups so it’s a little awkward for me. He and other loved ones who show you players in those outfits, earn Clicks. And a much higher income than the offended Dumba–es. Why don’t these ‘Serious’ guys try to reach out to him and offer to play a round for $10k a stroke. Maybe you got a call back from PS in milliseconds.

They want to be p—ing/moaning about golf right now, what with the astronomical costs going up over the last 15-20-Re why I don’t play anymore. A crappy muni I the aughts that was $20 is now $50+. As well as being burdened by ‘Serious’ players who pray to 1x break 100. I’m happy to look at pictures of lovers.

Take care and keep up the great work.

Thanks for reaching out, Daren. I knew there were some serious golfers who were fans of Paige Spiranac’s contributions to the game of golf. Some serious golfers can’t get out of their own way.

I’m glad to be reassured that it’s wrong if it means more baseball!

– Jim T in San Diego writes:

I did an online search for summer baseball leagues in San Diego and came up empty, so kudos to Tim R. for pointing me to the San Diego Waves summer league team. I see that they play their home games at several high schools that are both within 10 minutes of my house, so if Tim R. is around, I might meet him at one of the games this summer. (I saw my first college summer league game two years ago at home in Ohio – the Champion City Kings in Springfield, Ohio, coached by Barry Larkin’s brother Stephen.)

And thanks to John D. for the tip on easy cubes for charcoal chimneys. I’ll have to sneak in and see if my wife says she can taste the chemicals in her burger (her lighter liquid complaint). And if that doesn’t work, I’ll check Cary H.’s suggestion again.

Love getting solid guidance from SC Nation!

And as for Joe in E. Tenn., no, I’m definitely NOT Jim Trotter – even though Trotter cuts his teeth like Big J here in San Diego every day, he was a successful writer. You wrote the stories you wanted to read in the Sports section every day. I hope we have SC students in or near the Cary, NC area who can report on Div. II CWS this coming week. I think college baseball is a huge missed opportunity in national sports coverage. Why supermarkets don’t have a section dedicated to college baseball the way they do football and men’s and women’s basketball is beyond me. Most every school has its own sports information department that writes game stories after each contest – it wouldn’t be hard to get permission to run them again, I wouldn’t think: What college program doesn’t want more exposure?

Well, San Diego State is getting ready to play Wazzou in the Mountain West tourney title so I have to go get ready. My Aztecs got a crazy win over Air Force last night coming back from an 8-1 deficit. With Wazzou beating us in the second round, we’ll need to sweep them in the DH for the title and an automatic NCAA bid. Since the SEC is now baseball’s premier conference, it’s likely that the Mountain West will only get one team, so it’s best to win it and take it out of the committee’s hands.

It all comes down to baseball and meat. And, of course, Screencaps Nation is coming together.

I watched a little College Baseball yesterday and I’m telling you, I can’t stop looking at the two bases at first safety or the amazing softies. I also saw a review of the slider at second base that is everything wrong with the current version of baseball.

OutKick readability

– Michael writes:

Just my opinion: I find Outkick almost unreadable- I don’t know who edits it, but it seems to be fiction.

They say that an infinite number of monkeys writing on an infinite number of typewriters will eventually write great works of literature. I get the impression that your monkeys need more time.

Is this from my family member? Who knows? In any case, thanks for reaching out Michael. I am proud to have inspired such an email.
