Steph Curry’s $400 Million Deal Has Draymond Green Stunned

Steph Curry has accomplished almost everything there is to accomplish on the basketball court. Four championships, two MVP awards, the NBA’s all-time three-point record and a place among the greatest players in league history.
Now, the Warriors star is making headlines away from the court.
Curry agreed to a 10-year partnership with Chinese sportswear giant Li-Ning reportedly worth more than $400 million – a deal that also attracted longtime partner Draymond Green.
“Yes, number one, Li-Ning is one of the fastest growing shoe brands in the world. Number two, the opportunity for him to grow the Curry brand globally, the Chinese market, life after basketball for him,” said Green speaking on the Draymond Green Show. “This contract checks all those boxes and I’m very happy for him. I think this is just the beginning.”
The deal comes after Curry and Under Armor ended their partnership that dates back to 2013. During that time, Curry went from being a great player to one of the most recognizable athletes in the world.
What impressed Green the most was not just the size of the contract, but when it happened.
“Signing a $400 million contract and sneakers, supposedly, at 38 years old is unheard of,” Green continued. “What informs you is the weight of Steph Curry’s name, which makes you know that Steph Curry’s presence, who he is, what he is, what he stands for, that they are willing to sign this 10-year agreement.”
The length of the partnership is especially remarkable considering Curry is believed to be nearing the end of his NBA career.
Green acknowledged that fact while highlighting how rare this type of deal is.
“It’s amazing, absolutely crazy. So, shout out to 30. Amazing. One,” Green said. “It’s amazing to see man, congratulations brother. You did a good job.”
