Scenes from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner

President Donald Trump and other top US officials were escorted out of the annual White House Correspondents’ dinner in Washington, DC, on Saturday after gunshots rang out shortly after the meal began.
At least five shots were heard at the event at the Washington Hilton Hotel around 8:35 pm ET.
Trump, who was seated on the stage in front of the ballpark next to first lady Melania, was quickly surrounded by the US Secret Service, while hundreds of attendees ducked under their tables to seek cover.
It appeared that no one was seriously injured. The gunman was then arrested.
