Our 7 favorite deals from Amazon’s Pet Days sale

A big part of my work here The Verge find deals on technology students will love. But in my personal life, I don’t spend as much money on technology as I do on food, litter, and other supplies for our two cats. Sad but true. If your life is also dominated by furry (or feathered, scaly, shelled) friends, perhaps your interest will be piqued by Amazon’s five-day Pet Days sale happening at 2:59AM ET on Saturday, May 16.

There is a a ton of products available with some kind of discount attached – there are too many to list individually. In case you don’t want to settle all the deals, I’ve tried to do you the favor of pulling out seven notable discounts for cat and dog parents.

A product I recommend to all pet owners Bissell’s Little Green upholstery and carpet cleanerwhich is $99.99 at Amazon (originally $129.99). It’s a battle you need on your side to help you get ugly stains out of carpeted floors and stairs, rugs, sofa cushions, and more. The portable cleaner works with Bissell’s cleaning formula, and the purchase includes a sample of the product. It comes with a cleaning brush and a scraping tool to suck up the yucky stuff in the corners.

Although it’s not the quietest machine to use, it’s important because it’s a way to reduce your pet’s accidents (it’s great for removing coffee stains, too).

Pet owners have a special bond with their animals, and many can understand what their animals need based on how they try to get our attention. But wouldn’t it be nice if your pet could put in a little more effort? I’m not saying this 10 packs of voice recorder buttons you’ll suddenly turn your pet into Sapphie, but for $19.76 (just a few bucks off) for the kit on Amazon, it seems fun to try. Each button can record up to 30 seconds of voice clips.

I Litter-Robot 4 is a self-cleaning litter box it’s a big ticket for cat owners who want to delegate the smelly job. There’s a great deal recently on Amazon that includes a small box and a starter kit for $799.99 (regularly $860). The whole point of getting the Litter-Robot 4 is to make your life easier, cut back, and do other things with your time that hopefully don’t involve hunting. The included accessories (three OdorTrap packets, 10 liners, 30 wipes, and two carbon filters) mean you need to interact with the litter box very little.

There are plenty of Wi-Fi-enabled cameras you can get to remotely see what your cats are up to, including ones that cost less than $20. For my money, I have been satisfied with TP-Link Tapo 1080p indoor camera that’s $17.99 at Amazon

It may be more basic than some pet owners want. And yet, it’s powerful enough for me to use as a baby monitor. It has pan and tilt functionality so you can see around the room, and its feed is viewable in the Kasa app, which is handy if you have other TP-Link gadgets. It supports motion detection, two-way audio, night vision, and the option of cloud or microSD card storage. There are more expensive options made to ease the worries of pet parents who can’t make their own food and such, but if your pet doesn’t need that much attention, this will do just fine.
