Giants Place Heliot Ramos on Ten-Day Injured List

The Giants fielded an outfielder Heliot Ramos on the 10-day injured list, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. They open again Erik Miller from his renewal assignment, to choose Tristan Beck going to Triple-A, and remembering Is Brennan. Per Justice de los Santos of The Mercury News, Ramos has a right quad strain.

Ramos was injured in the fifth half of yesterday’s 5-2 loss to Athletics. He tried to catch by sliding on the take off line Jeff McNeil and came up short, with McNeil reaching one. Ramos looked uncomfortable in his at-bat in the sixth, hitting a swing before leaving the game with a trainer. Casey Schmitt put Ramos in left field.

Ramos had an MRI today, and apparently the quad strain was severe enough to warrant a trip to the injured list. This is only the second time Ramos has been in IL in his career. The first was in 2023, when he missed two months with a right oblique strain. As for his current injury, Ramos can expect to miss a few weeks with a quad strain, or a few months if it’s more severe. A precise timeline should be known in the coming days as the team reviews the test results.

More to come.
