Britney Spears said she was an “angel” before police arrested her in March for drunken driving, according to documents obtained by Fox News Digital.

Spears, 44, admitted to the California Highway Patrol that she could “drink four bottles of wine and take care of you, I’m an angel,” before refusing a breathalyzer test.

When Spears was placed in handcuffs, police found a brown wallet in her car that contained a bottle of Adderall – a drug the singer was not prescribed.

Police also found “an empty wine glass in the cup holder between the front driver’s seat and the front passenger seat.”

Police noticed a “distinct odor of alcohol” inside the vehicle before conducting a DUI investigation.

Spears initially refused to get out of his car and asked for his lawyer before agreeing to talk to police at the scene outside of his car.

“I ask Spears on a scale of zero to ten, with zero being totally drunk, and ten being the drunkest he’s ever been, where he would rate his current level of drunkenness. Spears rated his current level of drunkenness at ‘Zero.’

Police noted that Spears had “extreme mood swings” during the interview, and saw her change her demeanor from “defiant and angry to talkative and compliant.”

Earlier this month, Spears’s DUI charge was dismissed after her attorneys pleaded guilty to what is often referred to as “wet recklessness.”

He was fined, given 12 months of probation, time served and will need to complete a DUI course. The plea offer was typical for defendants with no DUI history, no crashes or injuries on the road, and a low blood-alcohol level, the district attorney’s office said.

“Ms. Spears fought hard for this case, pleading guilty early and two months from the day she was arrested,” said Attorney Erik Nasarenko.
