Virginia Democrats push for gerrymander plan, Trump should look for reelection

If you are proud of something, you want people to see it. That’s why it’s telling that Virginia Democrats are asking Old Dominion residents to vote on a redistricting plan without allowing their proposed map to be printed on the ballot.

But it’s no surprise: the mid-10th redistricting proposal is a scumbag that will wipe out all but one GOP-leaning congressional district in the state. And, of course, they say it’s all done in the name of “democracy.”

This dishonest power play aims to make the congressional representation of a purple state almost as green as Massachusetts. It costs almost half of the Commonwealth (Virginia went 51.8%-46.6% for Vice President Kamala Harris in 2024). The proposed districts are extreme – from blue residential areas to red rural areas. Federal workers in Arlington and Fairfax will actually command representation of the farmers’ and shopkeepers’ union for a distance of 100 kilometers.

Local airwaves are filled with ads pushing this redistricting scheme as a benevolent attempt to save democracy and “free and fair elections.” Another ubiquitous ad shows former President Barack Obama running his culture with the honesty shown in his famous declaration, “if you like your plan, you can keep your plan.” Now it’s, “if you like your state, you can keep your state,” with an empty promise to return to Virginia’s normal redistricting process in 2030.

The grassroots offerings are more transparent than the kinds of fake democratic claims used by former presidents, governors, and other progressive frauds. Yard signs supporting the initiative are very clear about the initiative’s purpose, urging voters to “fight” MAGA.

HOUSE FIGHT BREAKS IN VIRGINIA AS COURT RULES FREE REUNION VOTE

It is clear to anyone who pays attention that, instead of an attempt to “restore justice” or “level the playing field,” the Virgerrymander of Virginia, or the Virgerrymander, is nothing more than an attempt to set the stage in favor of the Democrats to weaken President Donald Trump.

So, what can the president and his supporters do? Besides mobilizing Virginians to oppose this power grab, Trump has another tool he can use to “fight back,” to borrow a phrase from supporters. He could fight fire with fire and choose another form of Reprogramming.

In 1790, Virginia and Maryland each gave five square miles of land to the Federal government to build a new national capital district. That country of Virginia remained part of the District of Columbia until 1847 when it was returned to the commonwealth. The shameful reason for that reversal was to protect slavery in Virginia while the Territory abolished it.

This arose after the Union defeated the ancestors of this current attempt to rig the election and resist the elected leadership in the Civil War. Other presidents, including William Howard Taft, have considered restitution unconstitutional and sought to restore State land, but the Supreme Court has never been asked to weigh it.

President Trump could issue an executive order declaring slavery-inspired readmissions unconstitutional, triggering some legal action, and allowing the courts to finally examine whether the county of Arlington and the city of Alexandria actually belong in the District of Columbia.

This Order will be in a better legal position than many of President Joe Biden’s more drastic orders, such as those forcing evictions or forgiving billions in student loans with the use of a (automatic) pen. As one of the deepest blue areas of the Commonwealth – and the country – and loaded with federal government workers, residents of this region should feel right at home as part of DC.

In an ad pushing voters to support his party’s plan, Spanberger calls this an “extraordinary moment.” That’s right. Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures – measures, unlike “Virgerrymander,” that are legal and moral.

If the Virginia Democrats’ redistricting is successful, President Trump must redistrict Virginia. It will not only reduce the movement of the president’s political opponents to set up Congress against him – thus protecting him from another possible false impeachment – but, more importantly, it will save a large number of red Virginians from having their votes canceled by blue-collar liberals near DC.
