Alex Jones has exposed another great conspiracy

Alex Jones may lose soon Infowarsthe digital perch he used for decades to trade conspiracy theories, on The Onion, a satirical newspaper. But not before he reveals something truly sinister: comedian Tim Heidecker’s (publicly available) past work.

“The Onion newspaper has been rocked by the discovery that their new creative director has produced programs for child abduction, torture and murder,” Jones wrote in X on Friday. “Below is a real reptile mug..” he continued. Included in this post is a fake mug shot of Heidecker taken from the 2017 Adult Swim courtroom series, where he faces 20 counts of second-degree murder.

Ever since news broke Monday that The Onion is nearing a new deal to take over Infowars from Jones — and bring in Heidecker to serve as the site’s new art director — this conspiracy theorist has been posting to X about the comedian’s previous work. In one 30-minute segment, Jones narrates and responds to skits by Heidecker and editor Eric Wareheim.

“⚠️ ADVISORY REPORTER’S BIG WATCH: Man Hired by Onion to Take on Infowars Produced Pro-Pedophile / Child Abuse and Murder Adult Swim Shows With Will Ferrell Participating in Satanic Rituals with High Priestess Marina Abramović!” Jones wrote. Played clips from Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! like other child clowns for hire. The style is surreal, loud, weird, and obviously fake.

It’s unclear whether Jones realizes that “fake” is part of it — but he certainly expects his viewers to believe what he’s saying. Ever the opportunist, Jones made a plea to his base.

“This is what we’re up against,” Jones said. “So, if you don’t talk about what we are doing, if you don’t pray for broadcasting, if you don’t support us financially, you are helping these people.”

Jones also said he has “whistleblowers” within Senior Swimming and has “a lot of things that come from within the program” that have not been broadcast. An email to Jones’ site was not answered.

For years, Jones has used his online platform to enrich himself by selling merchandise, dietary supplements, and sketchy health products while spreading lies and conspiracy theories. In 2022, Jones was ordered to pay $1.5 billion to the families of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, which he said was a sham. Jones repeated similar claims this week.

The new deal for The Onion to run Infowars follows a legal back-and-forth in 2024, when court-appointed trustees and Sandy Hook families voted down The Onion’s bid to take over. After a judge initially blocked that deal, Onion came back with a new license agreement where they would pay to use Infowars IP. The new deal still needs to be approved by a judge.

“This is not a smart man, and it’s very funny to watch this all unfold. The fact that he used a fake mugshot from a fake case about a fake music festival for a popular TV show and presented it as a ‘real photo’ should tell you what kind of sane reporting methods this man has been using for years,” said Ben Collins, CEO of The Onion, via email. “While we’re very glad this season of InfoWars is over, we appreciate this hilarious blast from afar as we build something even better that we hope will begin next week.”

“In the meantime, all true InfoWars fans concerned about exposure to Satanic influences should visit TheOnion.Info to purchase Demon Guard™, the only patch that provides 24-hour holy protection against all dark entities.”
