Thousands of bikini-clad revelers were met by increased law enforcement as they took to Florida’s waters over the weekend for another year of the infamous boca Bash.
The party, held annually on the last Sunday of April, is a free, ticketed event hosted on Lake Boca Raton, along the southeast coast of the Sunshine State.
Although the bash attracts thousands of revelers, this year’s party has seen a significant law enforcement presence up and down the coast after previous events have resulted in several arrests.
“I will say that this year there will definitely be law enforcement,” CJ Thomas, a local resident who frequents the Boca Bash, said. he told WPEC. “This year they really hit the boat ramps. So all the boat ramps from Delray to Fort Lauderdale are closed.”

In 2018, Francis Roselin, 32, of West Palm Beach, drowned while enjoying the festivities in the water.
At the time of his death, his friend, Strogoff Prevot, he told WPTV that Roselin was left behind when their group swam to the sandbar. Law enforcement and Roselin’s friends searched for the missing swimmer, but rescue efforts by Ocean Rescue and the Coast Guard were unsuccessful.
Roselin’s body was later found by a swimmer down the Intracoastal Waterway, and the Boca Raton Police Department determined she died of drowning.
GOT ADVICE?
Roselin’s girlfriend, Tamekia Rich, filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against the City of Boca Raton, alleging that officials were negligent by failing to provide proper water control and failing to control the crowd.
However, the city dismissed the allegations, saying that the Boca Bash was an unauthorized event and therefore not organized by officials.
