The Internazionali BNL d’Italia has long been known for providing a unique fan experience on the ATP Tour.
The clay ATP Masters 1000 event in Rome is held at the historic Foro Italico and features some of the most famous tennis courts in the world, not least its main court, Campo Centrale, and the iconic Stadio Pietrangeli. For the 2026 edition of the event, which will take place from 6-17 May, the tournament has announced another upgrade to the level where the biggest stars of the sport will fight.
The second court of the Foro Italico, the Grand Stand Arena, has this year been redesigned to stand in the middle of the Stadio dei Marmi Athletics track: It has been renamed the BNP Paribas Arena and will have a capacity of over 7,000 spectators.

Meanwhile the new SuperTennis Arena, built opposite the Campo Centrale, will feature polygonal structures designed to bring fans even closer to the action on the court. Improvements to the fan experience at the tournament also include the restoration of historic areas, the replacement of large asphalt areas with natural paving, the expansion of equipped green areas, and the creation of new areas dedicated to fitness, relaxation, and learning.
Almost 160 million euros have been invested in the renovation project, which aims to make the Foro Italico an accessible place all year round. Other additions to the site, where Carlos Alcaraz and home favorite Jasmine Paolini lifted individual trophies at the 2025 Internazionali BNL d’Italia, include the development of the Stadio dei Marmi with a new museum dedicated to Italian sports.
Rome’s development is part of a broader wave of infrastructure investment at all of the ATP’s top-level events, including Cincinnati, Shanghai, Madrid, Paris, and more. These changes are inspired by the landmark changes under OneVision, the ATP’s long-term strategic plan, which aims to raise the profile of the sport and improve the experience for fans and players.
