A SOUTHCOM strike has killed three suspected drug terrorists in the Eastern Pacific

The US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) said on Tuesday that the US military carried out a dangerous strike on a ship in the Eastern Pacific, killing three suspected drug terrorists.
The strike, which was conducted by the Joint Task Force Southern Spear under the orders of Commander General Francis L. Donovan, targeted a vessel operating in drug-trafficking and drug-trafficking operations.
No US service members were injured in the operation, according to SOUTHCOM.
“Intelligence has confirmed that the vessel has been traveling through known drug trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and is engaged in drug trafficking,” the command to X wrote. “Three male terrorists were killed in this action. No US soldiers were injured.”

SOUTHCOM did not immediately release other details about those killed.
The U.S. military has carried out several strikes in recent months on suspected drug-trafficking vessels as part of a broader crackdown on cartel-related human trafficking.
The announcement comes a day after SOUTHCOM said it carried out a similar strike in the Caribbean on Monday, killing two suspected drug smugglers.

Earlier, on April 24, SOUTHCOM conducted a deadly strike on a suspected drug-trafficking vessel in the Eastern Pacific, killing two suspected drug terrorists.
This strike followed less than a week after SOUTHCOM said it was conducting an operation in the Caribbean, killing three suspected drug terrorists.

SOUTHCOM is responsible for military operations in Central and South America and the Caribbean, including counter-narcotics missions aimed at disrupting drug trafficking networks that threaten US interests.

The Eastern Pacific remains an important corridor for drug trafficking, as cartels often use small, fast-moving vessels to transport drugs to the US and Central America.
