Former Democratic National Committee (DNC) chairwoman Donna Brazile was not interested in addressing first lady Jill Biden’s comments about being “panicked” watching her husband in the 2024 presidential debate.
Jill Biden recently told CBS that while watching her husband’s debate against President Donald Trump, she feared he was having an emergency and thought he was having a stroke. His comments renewed attention to concerns about the age and health of then-President Joe Biden, which grew after his debate was scrutinized.

“I don’t want to talk about Jill Biden right now,” Brazile said when Fox News Digital asked her to share her thoughts on the first lady’s recent comments about her husband’s debate.

Fox News Digital pressed Brazil to respond as discussions have been swirling around the 2024 election and what went wrong – especially following the calling and release of the 2024 DNC autopsy report, an internal review of the party’s 2024 defeat and the factors that contributed to it.
Brazile, speaking of himself as a third party, urged Democrats to deny any calls to look to the past, and instead focus on the party’s future and the upcoming elections.
“Donna Brazile will not dwell on the past,” he said. “Donna Brazile wants to focus on the future.”
He pointed out that Democrats are already making a decision in 2024 when Biden ends his re-election bid and endorses Vice President Kamala Harris.

“We made this decision in 2024 when the then president decided to resign and passed the torch to Kamala,” said Brazile.
A longtime Democratic strategist, Brazile served as interim chair of the Democratic National Committee in 2011 and again in 2016. He has been an influential voice in Democratic politics through many presidential election cycles and has often scrutinized the direction of the party following major electoral setbacks.

There has been ongoing debate within the Democratic Party about how to handle concerns about Biden’s age and mental health in office before ending his re-election campaign and endorsing Harris.
Brazile’s comments highlight the divide between Democrats who want a full accounting of the events that led to Biden’s withdrawal and the party’s 2024 loss and those who believe the focus should be on rebuilding ahead of the 2026 midterm elections and upcoming presidential contests.

But Brazil made it clear where he stood.
“Anyone who focuses on the past is not focused on the future,” he said. “I’m actually focused on ’26, ’28, ’32.”
