Dyson Vacuum Deals for Memorial Day: V15 Detect, Gen5Detect, PencilVac on Sale

Purchase a A Dyson vacuum is an experience. There are many models to browse and significant price tags for many of them. As someone who tests vacuums for a living, I have to admit that the Dyson blows away many other vacuums. There are a few cheaper models I’ve yet to grab (check out my full guide to cordless and robot vacuums for more recommendations), but if you’re dreaming of a Dyson, this weekend is a great time to buy.
Several of my favorite Dyson models are on sale over the long weekend. This weekend’s auction includes Dyson’s new robotic vacuums and the PencilVac that I can’t stop using, as well as my all-time favorites like the V15 Detect and Gen5Detect, and additional models that our group has loved using. Read on to find out all the Dyson sales I can buy this weekend.
The best Dyson vacuums are on sale on Memorial Day
Dyson Best Value
If you’re looking for the best features at the best price, I already recommend the Dyson V15 Detect when it’s on sale, making this the best time to buy. You’ll get both a Fluffy Optic cleaning head and a Digital Motorbar cleaning head for use on hard floors, carpet, or rugs, a trigger control, and information about the particles you absorb while cleaning. It’s simple and easy to use anywhere in the house, and the hour-long battery life should be plenty for cleaning the entire home.
More Powerful Dyson
Dyson’s most powerful stick vacuum is the Gen5Detect, which is a great option if you have pets as it has a faster motor with more powerful suction than the V15 Detect for pet hair (it’s our top spot for pet hair for a reason) and has a HEPA filter to keep allergens contained in the vacuum instead of being released into the air. It also comes with a real power button, so you don’t have to hold the start button all the time to use it. Similar to the V15 Detect, it comes with both a Digital Motorbar cleaner head and a Fluffy Optic cleaner head for use on carpet and hard floors, respectively. You’ll get two additional attachments, as well as a built-in dust and hole remover (good thing you don’t have to wonder where these attachments are!) It’s an expensive vacuum, but well worth the investment when it’s on sale.
If You Only Have Solid Floors
I don’t necessarily love the PencilVac, but I find myself reaching for it often, and I think it’s well worth its capabilities when it’s on sale. Part of what makes it so easy to hold compared to my other stick vacuums is how easy it is to store and stay charged with the independent charging base, letting it stand anywhere I like in my home as long as there’s an outlet nearby. The PencilVac comes in two versions, Fluffy and Fluffycones, with the latter having a design with cone-shaped rollers for better debris collection. It’s limited to hard floors only and has a short battery life, but I love how unmanageable and light this space is. Usually the price is high for its capabilities, and even if it’s on sale, it’s not what I’d call cheap, but it’s a good, fast everyday place.
Dyson’s latest Robot Vac
Dyson’s new robotic vacuum, the Spot+Scrub Ai, is the first to double up as a vacuum and mop. It has a large channel that reminds me of Dyson vacuums, as the dry debris canister is clear and round like the ones you would see attached to a Dyson stick vacuum or one of its upright models. It does a good job of mapping and tapping, and can read multiple floors, and navigation has improved from the old Dyson 306 Vis Nav. However, it’s not perfect navigation, as the camera sits below the space and doesn’t always see low-level furniture to collide with. If you don’t have a ton of furniture on the floor (or tons of IKEA pieces, like I do), this space might be perfect for you.
Stick Vac and Mop
If you’re looking for a vacuum that doubles as a mop, look no further than this V15 Detect variant on sale this holiday weekend. The V15s Detect Submarine comes with a Submarine wet roller head that converts it from a regular Dyson vacuum (which comes with both a Fluffy optic head and a Digital motorbar cleaning head for hard floors and carpet) into a wet roller mop. You cannot buy a standard V15 Detect and add this attachment to; these V15s are designed to work with this submarine head. You will fill the small reservoir in the roller head with water and you can start mopping, but you will have to wash the mop head later by hand, which is a little.
Dyson Handheld Only
If you’re not looking to spend a ton but want a Dyson that’s super portable and perfect for stairs, cars, and even boats, the Dyson Car+Boat is for you. It’s in the name after all. This handheld vacuum packs a lot of power and has great battery life for a handheld vacuum. It uses a trigger style controller like the V15 Detect, which I find is great for cleaning tight spaces like stairs and cars so you don’t miss turning it off as you walk out of the car or onto the next step. It’s an affordable way to enter the Dyson ecosystem, especially since it’s on sale.
