The PGA Championship purse continues to rise again this year, offering the largest payout ever to the 156 players who played this week at Aronimink.
Like all major tournaments, the PGA Championship’s purse has increased significantly every year over the past few years – nearly doubling in the past seven editions. Check out the rise from 2020:
2020 PGA Championship purse: $11 million
2021 PGA Championship purse: $12 million
2022 PGA Championship purse: $15 million
2023 PGA Championship purse: $17.5 million
2024 PGA Championship purse: $18.5 million
2025 PGA Championship purse: $19 million
This year, the trend has continued, with the 2026 PGA Championship purse setting a new record with a total of $20.5 million. (The Players Championship remains golf’s richest purse at $25 million.)
This year’s PGA Champion will surpass the payout earned by 2025 PGA Champion Scottie Scheffler by $270,000, for a total payout of $3.69 million. The runner-up will receive a cool $2.214 million, while third place will clear seven figures, with a payout of $1.394 million.
