Joel Embiid On Hidden Message For Future After Knicks Sweep

Joel Embiid sent Philly fans into a frenzy with his postgame comments after the 76ers lost to the Knicks in Game 4.
Philadelphia could not win a single game in the Conference semi-finals.
But, Embiid surprised everyone by successfully recommending it.
“I know we lost and I know that’s not a good idea, but for me it was a success,” Embiid said, via ESPN. “I came into this year not knowing where I would be, how long I would play, if I played the way my knee did two years ago, I came in hoping to be the best.
“I feel like we’re in a position where we got the knee, it wasn’t a problem.”
He then surprised everyone VERY much by expressing uncertainty about whether he would stay with the Sixers this season.
“VJ is going, I know, you know, I’m going to talk to him, he’s going to get better, and he was amazing in his first year,” Tyrese is going to get better, and he’s taking action every year. PG that we saw a few weeks ago, you know, he’s got it, and then everyone else. I don’t know who will be here. I don’t even know what I’m going to be here, you know, whatever happens, but, you know, for me I’m excited, you know, to really get back to myself.”
It is worth noting that he has been grouped with many of the stars of the game including Ben Simmons, JJ Redick, James Harden, Tobias Harris, Al Horford, Tyrese Maxey, Jimmy Butler, Paul George and he has NEVER made it past the conference finals – the only MVP in history to do so.
Maybe Embiid is just looking at the writing on the wall, because it’s true that the 76ers’ front office has a lot of thinking to do.
They have a TON of money tied up in the contracts of Paul George and Embiid, so they won’t be able to do much in the way of improving the roster – unless that changes.
