Razr Ultra, AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE And More

A collection of recent updates published by Engadget.

It’s hot as the sun here in the southeastern US, and we’ve got a bunch of other freshly baked reviews for you to read. If you missed any of our team’s in-depth reviews over the past two weeks, read on to get the scoop on all the latest developments in foldable phones, affordable GPUs, headphones and more.

Motorola Razr Ultra

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Motorola has turned its iconic Razr phone into a set of folders. Now for the second iteration of the Razr Ultra, the company hasn’t done enough to justify the price hike. “With Samsung expected to announce a new Z Flip before the end of the summer, buying the Razr Ultra right now at full price feels like a trap,” said writer Sam Rutherford. “Nice phone, wish it was less expensive.”

AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE

It’s not a good time to buy a GPU, but AMD has a unique solution for a tight budget. With the RX 9070 GRE, the company offers older technology for less, but you’ll have to make some sacrifices along the way. “Given the times we’re in, I can’t easily recommend you run out and buy a Radeon RX 9070 GRE,” said author Devindra Hardawar. “But if you really need an upgrade, and you can’t wait until next year, it’s a solid choice for midrange 1440p gaming.”

Honor Magic V6

Honor just launched the Magic V5 last August, but announced the Magic V6 in March. Editor Daniel Cooper says the company has rushed out a successor to maintain its claim to be the world’s smallest folding. “The sad thing about this device is that you can throw a stone in the window and touch the issue with the UI design or the software that you would expect to be caught during QA,” he said. “Some of this can be forgiven for a cheap handset, but not for an ultra-premium flagship of this level.”

Marshall Milton ANC

While over-the-ear ANC headphones are plentiful, over-ear noise-canceling headphones are very rare. Marshall has a new idea for an in-ear formula, balancing its product lines with the dash of interference that blocked the Milton ANC. “The legacy of the popular Major line is clearly put to good use here to create a headphone that appeals to the most discerning listener,” says author James Trew. “The ANC’s capabilities are strong in form, even if they may be considered inter-party if they are not heard.”

Logitech Mobi Fold

Is a folding mouse the ultimate travel accessory? For a certain set of people, Logitech’s Mobi Fold may prove that answer with a resounding “yes.”

“I’m faster and more productive when I use a virtual mouse and I’m more than willing to carry it around, as long as it’s not too heavy,” says Sam. “And with the Mobi Fold, Logitech has created one of the most portable displays on the market.”

2027 Rivian R2 first drive

While we wait for an extended test opportunity, you can read first impressions behind the wheel of Rivian’s R2 SUV. “[The] The R2 is a very conventional SUV, but one that has proven capable and comfortable in all conditions,” said author Tim Stevens. “After a day of driving, I found myself liking it more than the R1S. In other words, there is no secondary degradation here, and now I am very happy with the R3X.”
