Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., noted that he didn’t think Maine candidate Graham Platner’s Nazi-related tattoo was “disqualifying” him, unlike what fellow Massachusetts Rep. Jake Auchincloss a few days ago.
“Look, Graham [Platner] obviously I made a mistake and I was on CNN saying what I appreciate about him is that he has that mistake,” Moulton said on CNN News Central on Wednesday.
He continued, “You know what’s wrong with having a congressman in Maine who just does a Donald Trump request. That’s not in the best interest of the United States of America. That’s not in the best interest of the voters of Maine. The voters of Maine will have to make this decision, not the politicians of Massachusetts. But I think the one person that’s wrong in this race is Susan Collins as if her main campaign, she’s given a lot of power. examination.”

Moulton was responding to Auchincloss’ comments on the same CNN show on Monday where he noted that he found Platner’s tattoo and past controversial statements to be “personally off-putting.”
“I get that tattoo and its meaning about being an unfit person. “I hope the voters of Maine agree with me,” said Auchincloss.
He continued, “I think it would be a mistake for the Democratic Party to think that Graham Platner’s kind of Democratic Party is the one that will get us a solid majority across the country.”
Fox News Digital has reached out to both Moulton and Auchincloss’ offices for comment. Moulton himself has not endorsed Platner.

Platner, the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party in a battleground Senate race, has faced months of scrutiny over a controversial chest tattoo he’s had throughout his life. In addition, he has also been criticized old reddits where he made offensive statements about women and military officers for nearly a decade.
Although Auchincloss was one of the few Democratic lawmakers to come out against Platner, he later softened his stance in a statement Tuesday, clarifying that he was not supporting Platner’s opponent, Republican Sen. Susan Collins.
“Susan Collins is a rubber stamp for the worst president in history. Claims that I would support her, openly or otherwise, ignore my history of supporting Democrats to take back both chambers,” Auchincloss wrote on social media Tuesday. “As I’ve said months ago, I find Platner’s Nazi tattoo and his comments about it inappropriate. If it were me, I would vote for someone else in the Maine Democratic primary.”

“No matter what happens in Maine, Democrats need to take back the Senate, and I will continue to work hard to make it happen,” he added.
Auchincloss has received backlash from left and right over this change.
