A few years ago, Bud Cauley was a forgotten name.
Now he’s in trouble for PGA Tour competition.
Cauley was a budding star, playing college golf at Alabama with Justin Thomas and becoming the 7th player to earn enough money on the PGA Tour to earn membership without attending Q-School in 2011.
Success didn’t happen for Cauley as he found himself struggling to keep his travel card before a car crash in 2018 derailed his dream. Cauley did not play a professional event between September 2020 and January 2024.
But he regained the card in 2025 and even played in PGA Tour Signature events. This week at the RBC Canadian Open, he entered the final round just off the lead as he sought his first PGA Tour victory.
“I don’t really want to think about that right now. I guess we’ll find out when that day comes. I will say, since I got hurt and I’m playing golf now and I’m married and I’ve started a family, my life — I think my perspective has changed and my priorities I think are in order,” Cauley said. “So it’s not the most important thing in the world to me, but it’s very important. I work hard at it, that’s why I come out here to play is to try to win championships.”
With that said, here is the complete pay list for this week’s RBC Canadian Open, played at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley in Caledon, Ontario. A total of $9.8 million.
