Washington DC will host the Great American State Fair for America250
Ambassador Monica Crowley discusses the Great American State Fair, scheduled to transform the National Mall in Washington DC from June 25 to July 10. To celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, the 16-day event will include fairs from all 50 states and six territories, a 110-foot Ferris wheel, traditional games, and a rodeo.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom tried to mock President Donald Trump this week by sporting a limited-edition US passport with the chief executive’s photo.
The exchange began after the State Department announced it would issue special passports to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary of independence, with Trump’s image prominently featured on the inside cover.
Not to be outdone, Newsom — a critic who often takes to social media to jab at the president — jokingly posted a photo of a California driver’s license with his likeness on it.

In a statement sent to Fox News Digital, the White House said Trump is “focused on saving our country—not winning recognition.”
“Anyone who finds a problem with President Trump celebrating the greatness of our country during our landmark semiquincentennial celebration clearly has a serious and incurable disease known as Trump Derangement Syndrome,” said a White House spokesperson.
Since last summer, Newsom has recently adopted a Trump-like speaking style on social media, mimicking the president’s tone and sense of humor while criticizing his policies.

In another provocative post, Newsom’s office shared a mockup of a US passport photo featuring Trump and late financier Jeffrey Epstein.
In another post over the weekend, Newsom insulted Trump, calling him a “loser,” a label Trump himself has famously used against his critics.

The event gained notoriety after a suspected gunman shot a US Secret Service agent at close range before being arrested.
