One Win to End 53-Year Drought

The New York Knicks are now one win away from their first NBA championship since 1973 after producing the biggest comeback in NBA Finals history.
Trailing by 29 points against the San Antonio Spurs, New York rallied to claim a dramatic 107-106 victory in Game Four at Madison Square Garden and take a 3-1 series lead.
The defining moment came with seconds remaining when OG Anunoby took a three-pointer from Jalen Brunson to give the Knicks the lead and complete a memorable turnaround.
Head coach Mike Brown reflected on the play that will live forever in Knicks history, speaking after the game.
“You have to have a little bit of luck in life,” Brown said. “You have to have a little bit of luck in sports. But you can also make your own luck. So you have to have natural luck and luck where you’re going to make your luck, and maybe that was the biggest message.”
Brown challenged Anunoby during the break to work harder on the offensive glass. The Knicks forward responded in spectacular fashion, completing a comeback that surpassed the previous Finals record of 24 points set by the Boston Celtics in 2008.
Anunoby, who is averaging 23.8 points per game while shooting 58 percent in the series, showed New York’s resilience in the victory.
“We know it’s a run game,” said Anunoby, who is averaging 23.8 points per game on 58% shooting this series. “We’re a tough team. We’ve been through a lot. We’ve come back a lot of times when we’re behind. Just staying with it, weathering the storm, don’t get too down or angry or frustrated. Just staying with it, down 18, down 6, push it. 48 minute game, just finish the game.”
