Total amount, payout breakdown and winner’s share

The purse for the 2026 PGA Championship rose to a record $20.5 million for this year’s tournament at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pa.
The PGA of America announced the fund increase and fee split on Saturday. The $20.5 million prize fund is up from last year’s $19 million.
Sunday’s champion will advance again – a $3.69 million winner’s check. The men’s second-place finishers of the season all received seven-figure payouts, with the second-place finisher earning $2.214 million and the third-place finisher earning $1.394 million. Fees of $984,000 (4th) and $820,000 (5th) round out the top five. (Rory McIlroy claimed $4.5 million of the $22.5 million Masters purse last month.)
Players who missed the PGA cut received $4,300 each.
The final round at Aronimink is sure to be an interesting one. Alex Smalley starts the day with two shots on the six-under field, but plenty of players are within a few shots of the lead, including stars like Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler.
